1995 48v powerglide accelerator nothing, then full speed
My friend has a 1995 48v powerglide Club Car, serial #9529, that just started having an acceleration problem. Press the pedal about an inch, hear the solenoid click, but no movement. Keep pressing, nothing, keep pressing almost to the floor and then it takes off full speed. Does it in forward and reverse. It has the Continuously Variable Potentiometer version.
When testing the accelerator switch, the resistance jumps all over the place as the pedal is pushed -- getting 0 at pedal rest up to 4k+ fully pushed -- although with pedal movement it jumps all around including back to zero. Interior of the switch area has the pale blue switch with blue [keyswitch?] and green-white wires, output connector has the three wires. Does this sound like the accelerator switch might be bad? Seems like it is not available anymore????, if so best approach going forward? Thanks, Don |
