EZGO and CURTIS are on my $&^T list today
Just spoke to Curtis about my Shuttle 6, with the Curtis 1264-5407 controller. I asked why I can't find the manual for it on their website and was told "It's proprietary and that information can only be attained from EZGO"
Called EZGO, explained that I want to make some custom upgrades to my cart and that I need the controller manual so I can program it properly and they said "We don't have that information, it comes programmed by Curtis, and only they have the information". REALLY!!! How do they expect anyone to program a programmable controller without the proper information? Every dealer I've called says "we can play with it, but we're not sure what it will do". Did I just buy the blacksheep of EZGO carts? Why is nobody willing to give me info on it? |

Because no one wants you to be able to play with it. The same reason automotive engine controllers are being encrypted to prevent owners from "fine tuning" them. Factory settings are perfect for every conceivable scenario and require no additional input from end users. That seems to be the mentality nowadays.

Doesn't make sense. EZGO will sell you the controller and the programmer, but not give you the manual so you can use them together.

Thanks Dela, but mine is not on the list. According to both companies it's proprietary and that's why the info isn't published anywhere.

I got the same runaround with a "OEM" Delta-Q charger that shipped on a EZ-GO cart. Lame...

Re: EZGO and CURTIS are on my $&^T list today
The sad thing is that even the EZGO dealers don't have the information. How do they work on these carts without specs?

Re: EZGO and CURTIS are on my $&^T list today
If I had the controller and programmer, I'd just start playing with it until I figured it out. Then I'd post what I'd figured out here and allow others to do the same. Before long, the thing would be akin to open source.
