Charger Question
You have all been a great help so far. I received a Club Car Accu Charger with my ez go cart. It has a ez go plug on it. My question is how do I know that this charger will shut off once battery pack is fully charged I don't want to over charge the batteries. Thanks again.

Re: Charger Question
First, make sure the charger voltage matches battery pack voltage.
I know nothing about CC chargers, but batteries are batteries, so the automatic shut-off voltage should be in the 44-46 volt range for a 36V charger. Attach a DVM to the battery pack main output terminals (B+ & B-) and monitor voltage while charging. Depending on how discharged the batteries were, it might take several hours, but I'd pull the plug if the voltage got to 48V and buy a good charger like the DPI. |

Re: Charger Question
I don't know anything about CC chargers either but I do know some Club Cars have On Board Computers that control the charger. If your charger is made to be used with the OBC it will not work on the Ezgo..

Re: Charger Question
Placed it on charge yesterday and after about 7 hours it shut off on its own.

Re: Charger Question
Length of time on charge depends on how deeply the batteries were discharged, output amps of charger and some other factors, but sounds like you are in business.
Here's a State of Charge chart so you can tell how fully they were charged. Voltages given are measured about 12 hours after charger shuts off automatically. |
