charge in "tow" or "run"?

Hi,
I just bought my first electric cart.
Hated to get rid of my gas one.
Anyhow, when charging my 48 volt club car, does it matter what position the "tow/run" switch is in?
Is it wired between the batteries and plug?
Does it affect the motor in any way while charging?

I can't seem to find anything under the search on this topic,
and of course, I have to book to refer to.

no it does not matter

but if you are going to work on cart put it in tow
and of course if you need to tow cart put it in tow

I saw all the warnings about putting it in TOW for working on and all,
but couldn't find anything about charging.

That's good info! Is there a way to test the switch with a dvm to see which position it is in? I took mine out of the bracket it and reinstalled it later. I don't remember which position it was in. I haven't installed batteries yet.
