I really don't know. I'm confident that the connection has always been OK as the solonoid has always clicked and the charging amperages have always behaved as they should, apart from that final stage of switching off altogether and the orange warning light coming on. All the evidence seems to suggest that the fault was either with the OBC or the charger and it looks like my plugging and unplugging routine has resulted in that fault being corrected but how it worked or what the fault was I don't know. I'm just relieved that it seems to be working properly now but I'm not taking bets that it won't go wrong again. If it does go wrong again, it might well be worth my while to check the condition of the connections in the charging plug and socket but I'm working on the "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" principle for the time being.
