Default Difference in carts?

So..last weekend while my kids were helping me t a disc golf tournament they had a small error..resulted in the cart smacking a tree... lol the kids are fine with only a bruised ego from the driver.

That said..the cart sustained some damage and while definitely repairable, I am just wondering if I should swap working parts into my older cart body.

I cannot seem to see any real important differences between the 9837 and the 0043? Both have the single coil, both have the extra regen/speed wires on motor..

The 98 is definitely much prettier and both seem to have the same obc and same controller. The 98 was taken out of service due to it stopping one day on the course nd the mechanic in that town told him it was both the obc and the controller and not worth fixing..

I am obviously not concerned about obc as it can be bypassed..but is there a way to test the motor safely, bypassing the contoller just to make sure the fault is not there?

Thanks! Are there any real differences between the two carts? Again, with exception to roof and seats...I am not seeing any?

They both appear to be Regen2 carts. As you said, the seats and canopy are the biggest, although the controller is probably a little better as the '00 was just prior to the IQ releases 1.5 years later.

1998 and 2000 PowerDrive Plus (Regen 2) cars are completely identical in every day. They both have the multi-step potentiometer and they both have two solenoids. A primary solenoid and a dynamic braking solenoid. If it were a 2001 you could have had an MCOR instead of the multi-step pot, and only a single solenoid, but the 2000 would not have had any of these revisions.

Well, I am back to this cart...I have the batteries all charged up, all testing well, full voltage to the solenoid. Turn the key on, put in forward (and run mode), and the solenoid clicks...but zero else happens. I have also moved the white wire on the other (drivers side) solenoid to just connect to the other side in order to eliminate that possible issue.

If the solenoid "clicks"...can it still be failed? Or, does this lead us straight to the controller?

Check the resistance between the large terminals before and after the large solenoid "clicks". That will let you know if the solenoid is to fault or not.

Reads 0 before it clicks, and 0 after?
