Re: 1948 Ford Coupe / Cart BAGGED
Thats just amazing!!! Very creative!!!
Got a few questions for you. 1. Where do you get the 4 link bars and bushings from? If you made them what size stuff did you use? 2. Where did you find the body, or how did you make it? Im wanting to make a Nissan minitruck cart bagged, and Im working on my first cart. |

Re: 1948 Ford Coupe / Cart BAGGED
Thanks for all the great compliments!
Almost all of my parts are from the web..... The bushings are made by Energy Suspension, they're universal bushings... If my memory is correct they are for 1-1/8" id dom pipe.... BUT mine are overkill, if I were to do it again I would use something like club car front bushings (much cheaper to buy and smaller) or do a web search for mini nascar racing and look to their parts suppliers, they have cool bushing and control arms, stuff like that The body I found on ebay from a private guy that had it stored away... I'm told it was originally made by the Lil Car company from FL. which went out of business tears ago.... I've done a lot of research about making a body myself... I would post an ad on craigslist for an art student that works with clay... build a wood box slightly smaller than the body size you want, then cover it in clay from an art supply store (pretty cheap)... then have the art guy carve it from a picture (pretty easy for them) Then cover it in fiberglass and resin (can be a little costly) now you have a mold to make a bodies from... Here's some pictures of the rear suspension |

Re: 1948 Ford Coupe / Cart BAGGED
Thats just amazing!!! Being around the minitruck scene for 15 years I have seen some nice stuff, but this is just crazy. Very nice build!
Thanks for the info, now I got more of an idea what to look for when building my 4 link. Nice reverse link also! Looks like its very strong! Just a tip, I cant tell in the pics, but a water trap between the tank and your valve will keep your valves in better condition alot longer. The tank builds up water and will get into valves also, whick in return will wear seals and rust quicker. And I know valves arent cheap. |
