2001.5 TXT suddenly stopped

Forgive the dumb question, but our electric 2001.5 TXT cart suddenly stopped working this evening. The batteries were fully charged when the kids started riding. They rode it about 1/2 of the afternoon and stopped to eat. When my son got back on the cart it wouldn't move. The charge indicator shows it's about 3/4 charged, the horn blows and the backup warning sounds when you put it in reverse. When you press the pedal, you can hear an audible "click" but the cart doesn't move. Any ideas of where to begin? I'm currently nursing a blood clot in my leg and am stuck on the couch so I had the kids push the cart back under the carport. I'm sure it's something simple since they say the cart ran fine and then it suddenly quit. Again, forgive my ignornance but I'm new to carts and my knowledge is limited. Just wanted an idea of things to check before taking it to the shop.

Is this a series cart or PDS?

Do you shift it on the dash or by your leg?

Again, forgive my ignorance but I'm not sure. The forward/reverse lever is located on the body, in the center below the seat, by my leg.

Not a DCS.

You did't mention the age of the kids. You don't want young kids fooling around the batteries where testing is needed. They short out the wrong place and big problems.

It could be as simple as a bad cable connection.... Check all 26 ends

Thanks. Anything else simple I can check for. Like I said, the cart was purchased at Christmas and has run fine with not problems. I'd think it would be something simple.
