Re: Panic attack - Need help - new controller, solenoid and cables
Get an IQ wire harness. That's your problem. The excel harness has a different pin out and it also has resistors in the throttle

Re: Panic attack - Need help - new controller, solenoid and cables
Just got off the phone with TahoeDawg twice. Thanks David
CC has added resistors to the throttle input harness in the Excel cars. You can buy the IQ harness and replace it, simple enough. David explains the harness is all plug and play. Install requires the kick panel be removed and 2 screws from the bottom of the dash be removed to unplug the old harness and plug in the new. The 2 center batteries need to be removed to access the controller cover to access the other end of the harness connection. The harness costs about a $100. CU will carry this harness in the near future. CC made both IQ and Excel carts starting in 2008. Today all the carts have the Excel system. (2011? and up ) The serial # for the Excel carts start with PH or PD not IQ I hope this helps |

Re: Panic attack - Need help - new controller, solenoid and cables
Awesome - thanks Sassar, TahoeD and Scotty - This all sounds great and do-able.
Scotty - so you don't have the part yet - I see the part number 103374901 is searchable - Is there a preference on vendors that anyone may recommend? There is a pretty long list of site sponsors to go through one by one to see if they carry the part. If someone has done this homework already - I would appreciate their advice. As far as replacing my existing harness with the new IQ - good to hear, it's plug and play. You have indicated that the harness runs from the controller forward all the way to the dash? What does one call the Kick Panel? Just not familiar with the term. Yeap - removing the 2 center batteries would have been all would needed to do, knowing what I know now, when replacing the controller the first time. I had removed everything; seats(plus back), body, underbody, floorboard, etc...It was good opportunity to clean though. Thanks guys - you are all wonderful. |

Re: Panic attack - Need help - new controller, solenoid and cables
The harness may be a dealer item...kick panel would be center below the dash.

Re: Panic attack - Need help - new controller, solenoid and cables
How do I find a dealer(reputable) to order and mail to me? I am located where no dealers exist close by?

Google is your friend
The deal is in the works for a supply of these harnesses. Apparently these carts are starting to filter out into the general public in significant numbers .... Club Car ....... we have a better idea |

Re: Panic attack - Need help - new controller, solenoid and cables
And now what everyone(ok me especially) has been waiting for. Wiring harness came in today. Needless say, I had to install this evening. All 95+ degrees. So as advertised, everything was plug and play with harness. Kind of scary. One small difference is that the original Excel harness had some sort of interface that it plugged into and then sort of pigtailed in to the mcor. The IQ harness did not and plugged directly in. So I removed the that what ever it was. 2.5 hours later, I have everything connected. I guess I had some doubt as I haven't attached the body back the way it was or the floor mat. Also left the batteries un harnessed as well...So drum roll please....
I have movement. However, I obviously wired something backwards. Reverse(with buzzer) is forward(slow due to the fact it is probably half power) and forward(no buzzer) is reverse - I think my dentures fell out when I it engaged. So is that the F1/F2(blue/orange) reversed or the A1/A2(2 gauge)? Or something else? I will go do my research too. Probably won't fix til tomorrow. 2.5 hours to rewire and re-install solenoid and controller. Then secondly, my infamous ScottyB Meter isn't working....Not sure if the 2 wires that was available via the Excel has power or what. I will work my way through that tomorrow. Who knows, I my have tripped(figure of speech) and unhooked something when I ran the harness in the dash. All in all - I am done for the day. I will go clean up everything tomorrow and fix the reverse/forward issue. I post a quick update when that is complete. Thanks everyone for all of your encouragement, suggestions and solutions. |
