Re: '07 Club Car Precedent 12-8volt Conversion
GSP... it's not the factory kit. I can tell you that by looking at the picture. The factory kit uses a cover over all of the electronics. I wouldn't want to leave them exposed.

Re: '07 Club Car Precedent 12-8volt Conversion
Tahoe,
I knew that it looked different than the factory one because of the shape and that the location that everything was mounted was totally different than the factory one i installed. |

No this isn't the factory kit. It is a kit I purchased from Blockbuster golfcarts.
Does someone sale a cover that would work for this? |

Tahoe, do you know if the cover that you mentioned for the Factory kit is available for purchase separately & if it would work in this application?

The factory cover is available separately but it won't work with that application. There's nowhere for it to clip to. The OEM cover is also way too small to cover all of that as the back of the factory battery bucket acts as half the cover as well. Your setup is fully exposed and needs to have a custom built cover.

Re: '07 Club Car Precedent 12-8volt Conversion
Tahoe,
Thanks for the info. I am wondering if I will have enough room in the Battery bucket to mount the Controller & Solenoid. |

I guess I need to find a big piece of plastic that would fit underneath this bracket and is long enough to reach the top. I could rivet it too the sides.

Re: '07 Club Car Precedent 12-8volt Conversion
Well, I sent an email to Blockbuster Golf carts inquiring about a cover for this bracket application & they informed me that the newer 48V Club Cars have the controller & solenoid mounted the same way and that there is no need to have them enclosed.
They also said that they need to be in the open air for cooling purposes. From the way the instructions look the grated piece of aluminum that is currently on the back side of the controller mounting plate will have to be removed so that the controller plate can be mounted to this bracket. Any thoughts? |

Re: '07 Club Car Precedent 12-8volt Conversion
I can't help you with the after market kit, but I did the conversion using the factory kit. I can tell you everything works and looks great. The electronics are enclosed with a cover and there are no overheating issues. Wish I had a pic of the cover, but I don't.

On the factory kit, the aluminum heat sink is not used. Controller mounts directly to the bracket which fits on the back of the battery box.
