Default exhaust BBQ question

I am going to try to resurect my old G1 and the 1st thing I did was to burn-out the exhaust as I was having standard problems with a stopped-up exhaust, smoking, having to half-choke it,etc. My question is:Is there an exhaust gasket from the manifold to the muffler or does it fit snug enough to seal?I did'nt see one when I removed the muffler, but I could have overlooked it and burned it in the fire. By the way,the muffler looked like Chinese New Year on the fire. This cart has been sitting for more than 2 years,so I'm sure this won't be my last question.

I always try to support the site sponsors, but on some parts like your gasket, the Yamaha dealer is probably the only place to get them......Make a list and then go to the Yamaha parts "sticky" in the the beginning of the Yamaha gas forum, find your model cart and write down all the numbers so they know what you are talking about!
