flooding out
I have a 83 columbia, it floods out in forward but runs fine in reverse, any ideas what might cause this? Oh ya, if I go down hill it cleans out in forward. is it time for new rings?

Re: flooding out
Hey jk,
That's a new one,Not sure if you'd need a re-ring. Check the compression F & R- Should be around 80-100 in F & 85-105 in R. But I'd check the carb first-Could have the needle sticking or float probs. Cheap & Easy is a motto of mine! Good Luck!! & keep us posted! (& post more pix!) |

Re: flooding out
I took the carb apart and found a small pin hole in the float, the only way to get the gas out of the float was to light it on fire, the only problem was it got to hot and melted the solder. LOL Time for a new float.

Re: flooding out
LOL it's a good thing my wife didn't see that LOL and it's also a good thing I was at the cabin and not my house cause I didn't anticipate the fire fountain.
I found a new float but it wasn't cheap, close to $50. delivered. Ouch! It runs much better now. |
