2004 txt series cart motor replacement
I got this cart with a bad f n r switch with the b terminal melted. I replaced the switch and the s2 a2 terminals were getting extremely hot. It was the original motor so I had it rebuilt. After riding 15 minutes the motor was to hot to touch and all 4 terminals on the switch were hot. I got a refund on the motor and was thinking of replacing it with a D&D motor or admiral that has more torque. I have a new switch, batteries, and wires from the motor to fnr switch. It has a lift and 23" tires but otherwise stock. Any help would greatly be appreciated

Re: 2004 txt series cart motor replacement
RCC...seeing as how your cart is lifted and is sporting 23" tires.....your carts delivery system (controller, solenoid, F&R, cables) is already being stressed/over loaded. By adding a higher performance motor, MORE current will potentially be drawn from the pack causing things to heat up. This was/is part of your carts problem. If you want to continue on with a lifted cart with large wheels/tires on it, AND want the delivery system to last.....you need to upgrade/replace the controller, solenoid, F&R, and the cables as the stock components are not going to last for the long term, and as each component degrades, it puts more stress on each remaining one until you start having failures.

Yeah.....I agree with "all of the above." Iff'n I were you I'd send a PM to ScottyB and tell him your current setup. He likely will have a "kit" on his web site for sale that would fit your needs. His "stuff" is all high quality and his prices are very competitive. His support is beyond reasonable.
