Default Motor will run on after stopping

Not every time mostly after a longer ride. When I come to a stop the motor will not completly shut off. It will chug on for a few seconds sometimes wanting to go in reverse. What might be causing this?

It may be pre igniting after shutdown.
Could be to hot a spark plug, carbon build up, timing off
or a dirty carb causing it to run lean.

Also check the cooling fins on the engine.

Just for giggles, try unplugging your back up buzzer. Not as often on G9's as G8's, but it's a easy test.

I don't have a back up buzzer. I guess the previous owner took it off.
Let me try the plug. What is the best plug for my G9?
