Default My G9 build

Well I've purchased a 1993 yamaha G9.. Seems like everything I've touched on it breaks lol.. The oil plug is stripped and cracked clear to the case (I got a buddy who's gonna solder it with an aluminum rod).. I changed the gear oil and in the process the breather broke in 2 places got it all fixed up though.. But last night changing the spark plug the boot broke in half and a resistor/fuse looking thing busted out of the 90.. My question is do I need a certain 90 with a certain resistor in it or can I just screw any boot on??

Also the cart is stripped completely to the frame.. I have a bunch of stuff I stripped I'm gonna sell in the classifieds if anyone interested..

I've got 22 inch tires and 12 inch rims coming soon with a 6 inch jakes lift.. Also the clutch kit and exhaust from plowmans..

My plans are to shave the steering column 4 inches, lift, rims and tires, custom paint, diamond plate floors and kickers, dash, custom roll bar, gov bypass, frame stripped reapainted, clutch kit and exhaust..

Any tips or tricks are much appreciated..

Welcome to the club. you should be able to pick up a new plug cap at a snowmobile or atv shop bring yours with you it has to reuse the rubber that goes around the end of the cap. fan cooled motor needs that to seal off plastic shroud for proper cooling. patients and have fun and don't forget to post pictures

My suggestion is to make the car run perfect in stock form, before you start to modify. Then drive it a few weeks to make sure everything is fixed. Measure the frame from the center cross member out to different parts of the frame, to make sure you have a sound platform to build from. Then you know if you have a good car to spend money on.

Good luck, and enjoy!

I like your idea but it's way too late it's stripped to bare frame.. it did run good when I got it just needed some TLC.. I'm gonna compression test the motor though before I get to far into it.. Pretty much everything else I can go ahead with its a good cart shape wise..

Here's the motor repair.. I cut off the plug sleeve and tig welded it completely shut.. like an idiot forgot too take a pic of the tig work it was very pretty on one side but oil was just seeping out of the engorged cast aluminum on one side so the bead was a little "undercut" kinda? And slightly seeping so I hit it with some rough sandpaper and a hardwire wheel then coated with JB weld.. I'm sure it'll hold.. I made a new cap for the oil sensor and I'm gonna put a plug in it..
