Angry G2 needs choke to run

I have a g2 runs real good but needs the choke pulled about 1/4 of the way for it to run. If I pull the choke all the way out it bogs down, if I turn it off then I get only about 1/4 throttle and then it bogs. I have a new carb, new fuel pump, new lines, new plug, and filter. I would appreciate any ideas or experiences.

Try running it with the hose disconnected from the carb to the air box assy and see if it run's better. If so, airbox not sealed well.

Forgive my stupidity but, you mean the actual intake tube or should there be a hose running from the carb to the airbox?

So I tried disconnecting the intake tube. It ran good at idle but would not rev up with or without choke on, just bogged down. Anyone have another idea? Would also like to add that the foam prefilter is missing... would this cause a problem?

Yes if I try to run it with no choke or at full choke, it only likes 1/4.

Have you checked valve lash?
Is the carb mounted securely with no air leaks?

Someone here can give the specs, but usually .004" - .008" is good. If it's backfiring because of the valve lash, it's usually because it is too tight.
Also, make sure the muffler isn't plugged, or the tailpiece crimped closed.

Thanks for the good info. I found specs in sticky .004 for both sides.
Do you think the muffler could be plugged even on a 4stroke?
