Default Different EH 350 Heads?

Hello to the one that gives the right answer....

Are there different (basic) heads on a 350?

The deapth is the same, but on the frontside the firechamber from the older one is round.
Please see my albumpics.
(Also pics from my watercooled without the head.)

How do i deffinitely repair the plate in the head at the end of the rocker helpaxle at the beltside?
It comes out and is leaking oil.
I pushed it back, and filled the hole up with siliconekit, but it keeps coming out.

Thanks for the help.

Benno

Hi Benno, !
My 350 head from 1999 (aircooled) is the same as your air cooled model. I don't know if they changed ....
The rocker shaft insert or end plug? It's gone!? ?
You don't want to know how I would fix it! I'll tel you anyway....
I would screw a large allen head, set screw in it about 8mm!!Remove it, grind the end flat (if needed) apply epoxy or liquid metal and reinstall the set screw. You know, not to screw it in too far.... You've seen my workSloppy!
Sorry, someone else will know more..... Tony

Hello Jon, Roady,

I know, the MCI has the exhoustheader in the head.
But mine are both with the header outside, so with two exhaustports.

Another difference i have seen is that there is a number (259) on the older head and right under the cover two different numbers, on the newer one not.

FYI, I asked about the head differences, once. I took off an MCI 350 head to see if the modded 295 would fit. These were the visual differences I noted:

The MCI exhaust manifold is aluminum and part of the head.
The MCI pistons are domed, Old style flat.
Oil distribution in MCI is not routed through the rocker/valve cover.
Oil port on the cylinder is the same.
295 head will not work. Domed pistons contact the head.
MCI has different rocker arms. (new style)
The head combustion areas looked the same as old .

That's the visuals, I didn't measure anything...$10.00 head gasket experiment!
