08 yamaha value?
Found this one for $3200 but don't know if its worth it or not.
I'm more of a club car guy, but yamaha has sparked my interests lately. Its stock except for lights. Now questions like what issues does this year or cart have? What to look for when I look at it? Also what engine size do these have ? How well do these do with larger tires like 22 or 23s? I need real honest opinions on this? Oh n most important, what can I do to the stock engine for more power? [IMG][/IMG] |

Re: 08 yamaha value?
$3200 seems a bit high, but it might be right for your area. The early YDRA (Drives) had some clutch and axle issues, but I don't have the knowledge to address those issues.
The engine is 357cc, and 22's will work just fine. For engine/performance upgrades contact Don at Plowmans. He has what you need. There are many happy customers of his here, including me. http://www.plowmanscarts.com/parts_yamaha_drive.html |

Re: 08 yamaha value?
I'm originally from Virginia, could buy nice gas golf carts for $2200-$2500 all day long and that was right off lease so 4-5 years old. Out here in Tucson, it's an entirely different story. Arizona allows properly equipped golf carts on roads with a speed limit of 35 or less. Plus, we are filled with retirement communities (like mine) where it's much easier to hop in a cart and run to the clubhouse or pool. There are times where our clubhouse parking lot has more carts than cars in it and it has 90 parking spaces.
So, demand is very high here, supply relatively low and so the cart your discussing would bring that price, easy (assuming it has a title (required) and all the necessary safety equipment). |

Re: 08 yamaha value?
All golf carts come from the manufacturer with a certificate of origin (a/k/a manufacturers statement of origin). That document is used to transfer ownership of the cart. It can either be converted to a title, or held by the golf course as evidence of ownership. In states where carts are not allowed to be tagged, titles are seldom created as that involves creating a taxable asset. When I was back east, every cart I ever owned was without title. In Arizona, it becomes a major hurdle to selling a cart since many folks want to be able to tag them.
There are procedures in place to get a title for a cart that was never titled but it's time consuming and I think requires posting of a bond for a certain period of time. |

Re: 08 yamaha value?
2500$ is about the going rate for a cart that year around my area. The 07-2012 carts had team industries clutches in them that were a problem causing jerky starts and were not serviceable. No grease fittings. But there is good news for that. Plowmans carts can fix a that for you and put a lot more pep and speed into your cart. Also the early years had some troubles with the peddle assembly which yamaha updated a few years ago.

Re: 08 yamaha value?
for reference: I just picked up a 2010 drive for $3200 in Michigan.
I bought a rear seat, windshield, led lights and arm rests which I installed myself. out the door with tax $4000. this one already has windshield and lights which are about $100 each. good luck. |
