OK. Let's slow down a bit Jeff. Somebody has replaced a lot of the wiring and cables with various colors. Wires and cables don't know what color they are but it is going to make troubleshooting difficult. Look at the diagrams Bodule provided for you. That is the way this cart must be wired. I don't know what is going on under the dash. What accessories does this cart have? You must determine which of those wires are for functioning of the cart and which are for accessories.

To start with, has the key switch been bypassed, or is there another switch serving that function?

It's an 89. The diagrams supplied here are correct. You have a v-glide.

First, you will have to sort out the battery cables and all the other large cables.

Use the diagram and follow all of them. Make changes as necessary. If you can, wrap a piece of proper colored tape around the ends of the wrong colored cables, or a piece of tape with the correct color written on each end.

You should be able to use the wiring diagram to get things sorted out. It looks like the extension cord is the battery gauge and was probably hooked to the main pos. and neg. battery posts.

Yep. And in the scope of things right now that would be the least of his worries.

The other diagram shows these as black and green. Charging receptacle, micro, then to solenoid.

if that cable comes from the bottom of the F/R switch , then it should go to the pack positive #6 battery , if it comes from the right side , its reverse and can go on battery 3, 4 5 or 6 depending how much juice you want , left side is forward ...I have both mine on #6....
