Need help with G2 Clone Belt Size
I just bought a 88 G2 'Basketcase'. The previous owner bailed out of the project but he installed a Predator 420cc with Comet 40 clutch, the secondary clutch is the original Yamaha. There is no drive belt on it but a Dayco HP2011 is in a box of parts. From what I've read the Comet uses 7/8" width and the Yamaha 1 3/16". I'm not sure if I want to keep the cart until I see how it works so I was thinking of just using a 7/8" belt and let it ride a little lower into the secondary. I can't move the engine more than an inch forward or back. Right now the distance between the shafts is 14 1/2" so no way the original Dayco belt will work. Anyone with any ideas for what I should do is appreciated. Thanks!
