Default Club Car speed code

Club car Precedent 2006 IQ 48 volt. Runs 14-15 mph after speed code 4 upgrade. Is that normal.

That speed sounds more like speed code 3 @ 14.8 mph, whereas speed code 4 can realize 19.6 mph. BUT that's entirely up to the strength and condition of the batteries as well as the free rolling resistance of the cart, meaning no dragging brakes or bearings etc. Properly aired up tires are a must too...

You should have a sticker with 3 x 3 digit codes placed in the battery bucket when they programmed the speed code 4.

The best way to verify it is to create a test that only speed code 4 would pass, going down hill.

If the cart goes 19mph downhill, the code is installed but the cart does not currently have the performance (batteries, motor, cables, etc) to reach its limit.

Another thing to check is to make sure that there isn't any play in the go pedal linkage not allowing full throttle...As soon as you press the pedal you should hear the mcor micro switch click (not the solenoid)....

So I changed out speed sensor and stock magnet. No difference .Still only runs at 14-15 mph. Batteries 2.5 years old. 75% life on batteries. Battery Voltage drop on acceleration 4 volts. Did the dealer really reprogram to Speedcode4 or ‘took me for a ride’?. Next step high speed magnet or SpeedyLing device??z

Do you have the sticker with the codes?

Does it go faster than 15mph downhill?

Do you have a receipt for a code 4 purchase?
