Flat head bore size?

Hey all,
Got the flat head all ripped apart and out of my '86 Carryall 2.

The pistion broke and left a bit of a groove, just enough to feel with a finger nail in the sleeve of the cylinder, so we are going to machine it out before putting the new piston in.

My question... what is/was the original bore measurement for the flat head engine? I only know that it is a 341cc.

The replacement pistons come either .25mm or .50mm larger than original, but I don't know if it has either been bored out once before or if it is just really worn, so I want the "original" bore measurement to compare to...

I think theydidn't make the Carryall2 in '86

Oh, no... I wish it were a '96, then I wouldn't have the flathead....
It is a 1986 Carryall2. It was probably the first year the made it.
The entire seat goes up with the dump body...
The shifter is on the side...
1986. Serial # says so.
But, anyway... I was hoping you guys knew the original bore size on the flat head.

NO..... I have a kawasaki engine manual and it is like it didn't exist..... You could measure the bottom of the cylinder, below where the rings have run, and get a good measurement, no? Or just order the .50 over and go for it...

Well, I guess I will need to take some pics to prove it to you. My brother-in-law has the identical cart, except his is an 89. They look the same.

We already measured the cylinder, top and bottom, but I don't know if someone already bored it out during a previous rebuild, so that would make a difference in knowing if I can even get a big enough piston. If this has been done before, the .50 kit might not even be big enough. Thats why I want something to compare my measurements to.

i'm yet to see an oversized piston that was Not stamped on the top.

Okay, so I don't see anything stamped on the current piston, so... I can assume it is not an oversize already? Cool... thanks...

I just figured that this thing is 23 years old... I am sure it has been apart before.

I just think my measurements are useless... which kit do I buy if I don't know how much larger than "normal" my cylinder is...

I can't find the bore size anywhere.

well it could have had to or three ring jobs in a standard bore over the yrs, most standard bores will clean up at .25 over but if you go with the .50 like
Scottyb said your assured you will get it done.

if the standard bore went 25+yrs i think you will safe with the .50 over for as long as you own it.
