Default black box?

89 G2ED
what is the black box connected to the gas pedal linkage? Is that the motor controller? The top of it broke off and now the cart wont move. Can I get a bettsr one or do i have to get OEM?

I guess from looking at the wiring diagram it is the speed controller.

I don't know of any cart that the gas peddle linkage connects to the speed control. Please post pics of the part in question. There is usually a peddle position indicator device which sends a peddle position signal to the speed control.

This is whats inside the black box. Speed controller. The moving point arm broke. anyone know where I can get one????

That broken/melted plastic peice is called "arm,moving" part # j22-86152-00-00. May want to replace the "moving contact" part# j14-86153-00-00 while your at it, they get pretty damaged. Also get the "stationary contacts" as "flat" as possible (either with sand paper or a file). Some times you can "flip" them over. You want the moving contact to glide smoothly over them and not catch. Try a site sponsor or just google the part numbers.

Although that unit does speed control duty in this drive system, it is commonly referred to as a speed wiper.
