Default Solenoid/Resistor Cart Troubleshooting

Ok, so I just put my 81 Club Car back together. I replaced all the microswitches on the cart. Forward/Reverse and all 5 in the speed switch. I am getting clicks at all solenoids as the throttle is pressed. A test light hooked to the small posts on each solenoid shows them firing as the switches are tripped, but the cart doesn't move. If I place a jumper wire from the buss bar post to the resistor post on the solenoid, wheels turn. I thinks its unlikely all 4 speed solenoids are bad. I swapped out the master with the same results.

How do I troubleshoot the solenoids? What should I try to isolate my problem?

So, it was the master solenoid. Apparently, the "spare" solenoids I got when I bought the cart were bad as well.

Oh, well.

I hate when that happens! Glad you got it going

Got a quick question, I have an 81 also. Do you have 12vdc coming from your switches to fire the solenoids? Mine does but I never heard of that before. Also will the throttle switches handle 36 volts if I have to go that way? I have 4 bad solenoids at the moment.

sak00. Not normal. Should have full system voltage activation on solenoids. Mechanical switches don't care about voltage, only amperage.
