Re: Using Ausco Mechanical Disk Brake setup on a 1985 Marathon?
Not sure where the rest of the pictures went? Daughter got on my phone! Sorry I am going to have to take the wheels off again to do some adjusting so I will recreate the switch. It was real easy and everything fit as it should.
I do have a problem with the brakes releasing and I am not sure it is the cables or the bolts that hold on the brake pads? It said to torque them to like 20lbs but i did not have a torque wrench handy so I may have them to tight? The cables are loose but the return spring on the brakes won't pull them back open? Any thoughts? |

I will have time this weekend to look at these, any ideas as to why they might not be releasing?

I think I got it going last night. I ended up adding an extra spring to get the brake pads to release away from the disk.

So the kit is a bolt on application for 1985 Marathon ?
No modifications or additional hardware needed besides the spring you added. |

I wanted to put them on top but I would have had to cut off and relocate the bottom rear shock mount.
