![]() I have an 80s model Yamaha G1 and for some reason it gets stuck in reverse.. I charged it over night and it barely charged it... was stuck in reverse but not engaged enough to move it. I hit the Solenoid with a wrench and it disengaged. This seems to be happening often. Is there a way to open this and clean it or do I EVEN NEED to take it part to clean it? Looks like it would be a pain to take apart but if I have to I will. The Solenoid has been replaced within 2 years but it was driven on gravel road with lime on it so it’s VERY dirty in the bottom carriage area.
![]() UPDATE: so i sprayed off all the batteries and wires and what not while washing it i sprayed the crap out of the solenoid with contact cleaner started to try to take it off got mad put it back on (didnt get very far) seemed to work well 2 days ago had to work yest so didnt really mess with it today it wont work at all the back up buzzer will come on but it wont move neither solenoid is kicking in i have checked voltage (that i could figure out) everything seems to be getting power checked continuity though all wires seem to be good..Could both solenoids goin out at the same time?? what are the odds... is there possible another fuse somewhere i dont see? i have checked the two that i can find near the charge port and buzzer... if anyone has any ideas im open to suggestions thanks ![]() About to drive this thing in the creek and say the hell with it |

![]() Clean contacts are very important to the operation of an electric cart. Clean all the battery cable contacts and all of the contacts at the F&R. I think your biggest problem is your solenoid needs replacing ... it is a $25 part. No, a G1 does not have a controller.
