1986 Kawasaki 185 in 1985 EZGO 2 Stroke Swap
I don't know if this counts as "big block" or not (new here) but I'm working on putting a KLF185 shaft driven engine in an EZGO TXT that was originally a 2-stroke Robin drivetrain. I had to install a 4" lift kit and drop the front of the subframe with custom brackets to give it room and the correct angle for a 4 stroke to stay properly lubricated. Engine is going in backwards so the shaft rotation will match the original pinion's. Because it'll likely need to be re-geared for the weight difference between the 4-wheeler the engine is internally geared for compared to the golf cart (which has a 12:1 ratio) but the ratio seems way too low anyway, I'll be building a transfer case with an intermediate shaft so I can mess with different sized sprockets to get the desired output. I'm going to start with a 1:3 to change the overall from a 12:1 to a 4:1. And because I'm taking too long to build it, I've come up with an automatic overdrive setup that'll change the 1:3 to a 1:4 in order to give me a 6th gear! Does anybody know where I can get a floating housing for a sprag bearing or a 30 tooth #40 sprag sprocket? Also, if you're curious, feel free to ask me about my build!
