Re: Comments about your Lithium Battery
I've had to look up the chemistry of the Leaf battery a hundred times or more. I think it's (LiMn2O4 with LiNiO2).
For whatever that's worth!! |

Re: Comments about your Lithium Battery
I think that's right but I would have to dig out my specs that I got when I built my Leaf pack 6 years ago.

Take a ride while measuring the miles on your phone or other device. Watch the percentage gauge and when it hits 80%SOC, see how many miles you have gone to the second decimal. Since you have USED 20%, divide the miles by 20 and you will have a number of miles per 1%. Lets say you ride 8 miles when it hits 20%SOC. 8/20=0.4. Then 0.4 times 80 usable SOC equals 32 mile range. (Note) I was wrong on BGW a couple of times this week already, so feel free let me know if I am doing it again. As others said, this is only good on LFP and maybe NMC battery packs. This is due to the very flat voltage line on these. Voltage cannot be used on these packs accurately. I don't even read my voltage. |

Re: Comments about your Lithium Battery
1) Brand of battery - Chevy Volt 48V
2) Ah capacity - 105 3) Number of individual packs - 2 4) Pack voltage - 48V 5) Controller upgrade - Curtis 1268 6) Motor upgrade - Nidec 7144 7.5 HP 7) Series, Sepex or AC drive - Sepex Tire size - 23 X 10-14 9) Typical driving terrain - Flat with some occasional small hills 10) Estimated range on pavement - No idea; only 1.17 hours on the cart so far :( 11) Average and Top speeds - Average is about 20, Top Speed so far was 30 12) Likes or dislikes - Like 13) Additional comments - Super happy I did it and I earned a lot. Did this before real drop in options were available and while I would do it again, I would strongly look at the drop in options if I did this again (my choice would be the Eco Battery). Would like to do one more cart for around the property (would be a CarryAll) and will definitely go Lithium if I find one |

Re: Comments about your Lithium Battery
Ok....I'm an old guy getting lost in reading the post.....why is the Eco Battery going to have to wait? Issues with those installed now and awaiting new "fixed" ones?

Anyway, they are working with him on his cart and future plans may include hot-rodding it with an E.B. |
