drive clutch
My drive clutch is not closing up.
When I take the belt off and run the motor it will slam shut at high rpms and will not open up after that. Sprayed wd40 on shaft did not help. Can pry open with a prybar. |

Re: drive clutch
If you run without the belt it jams the clutch. On some you can ruin it.

Re: drive clutch
Push the outer half in towards the motor,it should pop back on its own with a little tension. If it slides in very easy, the spring is shot.

Re: drive clutch
Check the tech section on how to make your on puller for the clutch or buy one from ez go. Remove the gen. belt, remove the clutch bolt and insert the puller to remove the clutch. Mark the position on your clutch across the top to the inner sheave to make it easier to line it up on reassembly. Take out the small bolts on the outside and take off the outer plate and the dust plate. Yoy can inspect the internal components and operation from here. Any damage should be obvious.
