Default Speed & Batteries

I have a 2003 CC 48 volt IQ cart with a EMP motor. The cart goes 21 mph (GPS). The batteries are original 2003. Do you think a new set of batteries would help much with speed, if so what do you think I can expect?

The shop said the batteries are still good and I keep close check on the water and connectors.

Thanks

Phil

Phil,
I have a very similar situation, I am about to buy new batts.(6yrs old), I expect to see a mild improvement with my EMP motor. I initially ran at 21mph(6mos ago), now 20mph,...so I gotta think new batts. will may give me 22mph. Have you tested the volts on a full charge under a load? That should tell you what kind of shape your batts. are really in. My one cent.

BRS,

I have not tested the batteries but the shop said "they are in good shape for the age". I would be interested in what your cart does when you install a new set of batteries. Also what brand your going to buy.
