Default 2pg clutches

I currently have 2 2pg carts one is my nephews the other is my grandsons
they ride them like they are /were bulldozers in the woods little or no trails . Now both have comet clutches with the outer covers beat off and both are stuck about closed so thet the cart tries to move when the starter is used and there is not enough battery to make it both move the cart and crank it . is there any way to service / relax the clutch without replacment / neither clutch is a year old yet but the way they were used I just couldn't claim any warrenty .

I pulled the back cover off to see the clutch better and to get to it with a 'little' hammer and found 3 weights on the ground where it was pulled up and parked after last run and 2 or 3 of the weights are what is holding it from working properly . If and when I pull the clutch is there a way to get the shell off so I can put them back ?

Hey Goat, Sounds like its shot. Other than a spring kit there is nothing else you can do to those clutches
