Re: replaceing top end of ezgo gasser
My thoughts would be if my "bore guy" can't bore a cylinder to fit a piston that I have, I would look for someone that knows what they are doing. jus sayin

You must live in the sticks not to have a small engine repair shop around. I looked but can't find the piston clearance for that engine. hopefully someone else knows

No body around here bores little cylinders either...I don't get it..
I know we used to bore all our stuff @ 0.003-0.005 mm measured at the skirt. 2 cycle dirt bikes...... May be different for these.....who would know for sure??.... |

Re: replaceing top end of ezgo gasser
NOMO. the comp. was all the way down to 50psi, witch was mainly due to a blown head gasket, but when the motor was out I took a look at the piston (and haveing worked on a few small engines before) I could tell it was a bit sloppy in the cylinder so rather than putting new gaskets in and rebuilding the topend in a couple years I did it now. I don't know what the compresion is now I don't own the kit I used my best friend a boat mechanics and he took it back home before I was done. as far as parts go I went through my buddy so I could get them cheaper but I used Buggies unlimited for tch support and they have pistons, rings, gaskets, whole rebuilt kits, you name it not too bad on price either. I would say that you should not hesitate just order your parts and tear into it 2 strokes are an easy rebuilt just ask anyone on here and I am sure you will get help if you run into any problems. Hope this helps.
