Default I need to slow DOWN!

There are plenty of threads about how to speed up your buggy.... what do I need to know about slowing her down? Mine is an 87 flathead and the governor arm in at the bottom of the engine where the accelerator cable attaches on the bottom. The carb attaches to the top. There is a linkage that goes to the transaxle. This buggy appears to have no top speed. If I take everything off the governor arm, it just flops around...is that normal?

Try setting your governor to factory settings following the instructions on these pages. Sorry they are out of order.

After you set the governor here's another adjustment to check. The high speed adjustment.
