A decade worth of dust!
I just revived my trusty ol Jeep wrangler yJ. The clutch slave cylinder went out over 7 years ago and I just stored it. It was hitting 130k and would need the clutch done too. With mpg in the mid teens, I was in no hurry to start driving it again.
Just had it all repaired and brought back to life. It looks surprisingly good for a vehicle I purchased new from the dealer in 1992. |

Good looking Jeep,...
I was always a CJ guy owning a 83 cj7. Kinda didn't like the square headlight jeeps because the replaces my beloved. Time will change you and I respect anyone out there that owns and takes care of a Jeep. |

Indeed the round lights will always be that classic look. The yj is more old school than the later models with the struts, vents etc. this baby rides like a 70s truck. Bouncy yet solid at the same time.
Purchased off the dealers lot in 92, coming off of a 4 year romance with a red Porsche 944 turbo. Been a very reliable vehicle, hasn't been babied but still looks great. I think I'll keep it. Will make a nice battery delivery vehicle for my business. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Re: A decade worth of dust!
yes sir,....My 83..my wife couldn't drive it because the steering was so quick. She said "What's wrong with this POS" I said it was a "Jeep Thing"
Good friend bought this 88 after I turned it down. The picture does it justice, it had issues. Wrap peeling, frame cracked, oil leaks, key switch had a toggle switch on it, the list goes on. He lives about 30 miles from where he bought the thing and before he got home with it, the motor started missing and smoking. He said when the motor was cold it ran fine but after it ran a while and got warm/hot it started loosing power. I told him sounded like a head to me. He bought a long block for it, so hopefully he will be riding soon. He wanted to change the square headlights out to round lights. I told him that it's a wrangler be proud of those square lights. |

Re: A decade worth of dust!
Missing and smoking is still better than most cars built in 88 are doing in '15!
While mine hasn't been babied it certainly hasn't been used as intended either. I think I've only used 4wd 50 times. I used to use it as a daily driver. |
