Does the Plum Quik motor eliminate the regen braking, or does this have to be done manually and if so how?

Thanks for all your info Tahoe. If upgrading to the PQ motor on an '06 Precedent, i know you said not necessary to get 4 ga wires unless you upgrade the controller - would you recommend changing the controller?

Also, how is torque affected? For torque purposes, what would you recommend?

Controller and wire upgrades is where you increase torque. Most speed motors reduce torque if they affect it at all.

So, on a stock '06 Precedent would it be the suggestion to upgrade controller and wires, and leave stock motor, if torque was my concern?

And of course, I have no clue what those upgrades generally run. I know someone said about 250 - 300 for the PQ motor upgrade, but what is a ballpark $$ for upgrading controller and wires (and which wires should be replaced to the 4ga)?

Someone with more experience than me would need to answer that for certain. There is a point reached somewhere, where the larger controller could overload a stock motor, if I understand it correctly. You could do a small controller upgrade along with 4awg wires throughout and I believe you would see a torque increase but little or no speed increase. Everyone says with the exception of extreme upgrades that 4awg wires are sufficient. You need to change all wires not just battery, such as controller/motor wires and all wires associated with the forward and reverse switch. There are sponsors on this site that sell complete kits. I went with 2awg wires because I have the largest Alltrax controller along with a D&D torque/speed combination motor.

A stock controller is around 250 amps... aftermarket like an Alltrax is usually a 400 or 500 amp. You'll get that extra punch at takeoff but your top speed will be close to the same. You will get a slight increase of takeoff speed with a PQ motor but the biggest gain will be the top speed, not the punch.
