Default Is this bad?

my 93 ezgo when i hit the gas i can actually stay on the gas and let it idle that would mean the belts worn right, and i saw somewhere about modifying the clutch for more speed could i do that myself or does it take alot to grind them down a bit?

I can't tell what your trying to ask here except for the thing about the clutch, and then I can only assume your talking about the driven. Anyway, I wouldn't grind up parts of the clutch unless your wanting a new one and have to kill the old one first.

It is normal... When you let the engine just idle, there isn't enough RPM's to engage the drive clutch, so it stays open. The belt doesn't drive until the clutch engages.

If I remember right, wass did that and lost a few mph's because the engine didn't have enough power to pull the taller gearing. he fubar-ed up the clutch and made its preformance less than a stock one. To get more speed out of the ezgo, you need to spin the engine faster or replace it all-together with one that will spin faster. changing the gearing(either by tire size, rearend gear, or clutch mods) will only work well if you have the power to back it up

Well this sentence isn't viable because anything he touches goes to $hit.

And I think the engine was having more trouble pulling his large physique than anything else.
