Default SW202 and solenoid testing

Trying to test out components after a lithium battery upgrade, (roypow ah105).

It tested fine forward and reverse on the jack stands, full speed...

I backed it out of the garage, then went 30' slowly and stopped... when i went to go again no click and no movement...

So no more clicking sw202 when i hit the accelerator

Accelerator shows 0-5v when i press it.

I have 52volts across both 2g lugs of the solenoid.

I grabbed the test.jpg Scottyb posted earlier today for a diff thread...

Also looking at the schematic Scottyb sent me for the C54 upgrade...

Centerpole on f&r switch is connected to + on solenoid

Either side of the f&r switch is connected to a forward or reverse + on the SW202

More checking with the multimeter...

The + bar on SW202 has 52volts.

The 2 bars opposite have no voltage.

If I'm reading the test correctly, the small + lug on the solenoid provides some power to the centerpole on the f&r switch and when i toggle f&r switch i should get some voltage sent to the SW202 + connections.

This seems to tell me the solenoid is not sending out a small voltage signal to the sw202.

Do we know what voltage is coming out of the solenoid ? 48v ?

I didn't get any reading when i checked... multimeter has settings of 200ma,2v,20v and 200v

I want to make sure I have the multimeter set correctly to catch this voltage...

Thanks

Mike

You should have 48v at the small solenoid (+) when you press the gas.

Check David at Revolution (another Site Sponsor); hate to see folks go to Amazon if they don't need to!

wait the solenoid does not send power from the small terminals.

There should be 2 wires on that post and one wire would be power in when the pedal is pressed. The other would simply pass this power on to the SW202 coil

I don't want to see you buy a solenoid yet. Lets see where this power is supposed to be coming from and why it is not coming to the solenoid small + terminal right now

oops solenoid already ordered...

But I think I see what your saying...

I zoomed up the schematic on my big office monitor so this old guy can see it!

Keyswitch blue connects to red/yellow then to accelerator switch, when the pedal is switched it should send 48v to solenoid small terminal +

I have 48v coming out of the keyswitch and into the pedal but no 48 on the outgoing blue.

Thinking of jumping the keyswitch to the solenoid small lug + just to see if that works...

Sounds like the pedal switch has failed. Here are the testing procedures >

The electronic pedal test
Ensure there is full battery pack voltage (bpv) positive (+) to the red fuse link.
Ensure the fuse is good. 2-3 amp fuse maximum
Ensure the pedal black wire is connected to controller B- or battery main negative (bpv -)
Remove the pedal green wire from the controller and connect to test lead red. Connect test lead black to B-.
The voltage reading should be 0-4.6v or so with each stroke of the pedal.
Remove the blue wire from the solenoid or F&R depending upon your cart. and test the same as you did for the green wire.
The blue wire should emit battery pack + voltage each time the pedal is depressed.
If either one of these tests failed the pedal will need to be replaced.
If both of these tests failed there may be a wiring or testing problem as dual failure is very rare. Retest the fuse link and try again.
