Before you open the software right click on the icon and hit run as administrator. That is what he is talking about. Running the software in windows as administrator. You’re talking about the access levels within the ICONLive software. 2 different things. The passwords for the different levels are posted on the software post…

Thanks, I realized that right after I posted it and was going to edit it.

I have read everything here back to last June, at least, and have also done searches and haven't been able to find the password post you reference. It's not in the "ICON 2022 Software" post. If you don't mind could you give me a link?

Posting and replying in all caps is frowned upon in most forums I have participated in.

Haha, never noticed that until you just mentioned it. It’s a bit cryptic, but it’s there.

I didn’t notice the passwords either.

For those of you that have built your cable using the USB adapter from Amazon, it currently shows "Out of Stock" so is there an alternate USB adapter that someone can recommend?

I've used this one:

https://www.amazon.com/Adapter-Seria...s%2C166&sr=8-3

and this one:

https://www.digikey.com/en/products/...2R-3V3/1836393

there are a bunch of other versions of the ftdi cable that would work (5v, wire ends, etc.):

this one should work too and only has the 3 wires that you need with a nice 10' cable:

https://www.amazon.com/Serial-Adapte...xpY2s9dHJ1ZQ==

I'd probably buy that one if I was making a cable today and needed to buy a cable.

this one uses a different usb serial chip but it _should_ still work:

https://www.amazon.com/Serial-Adapte...xpY2s9dHJ1ZQ==

the prolific chip is a little cheaper than the ftdi one so the cable is a little cheaper.

Here is the one I just bought a week ago and it works. You can still get it.
