Fairplay start and stop issue

I have a 2007 Fairplay cart that is having issues with the control throttle? It will go until you stop and then you have to restart it before it will go again. I heard it could be the On Board Computer (not sure what or where this is on the cart) but I did look into the motor control. I have a kinetek Model: KCA0004-I which FSIP says it has a conversion kit for ($792.73).

How do I know if it's the computer or the motor control that is at fault and how should I troubleshoot this?

Should I get another kinetek or go with the conversion kit?

P.S. New batteries, charged, and good connections.
