Charger Problem?
Hey guys I have a question. I have a Club Car Serial A0051-965200 with a Club Car Power Drive Charger. The cart is rarely used and now I notice that the charger will not start the charge cycle. I've checked both the circuit breaker and visible fuse on the charger and neither is bad. Does anyone know why the charger won't start?
Thanks ahead. srb1194 |

Re: Charger Problem?
Since you have not told us the voltage of your cart; I can only say 2/3rds of the rated voltage

Re: Charger Problem?
you need 36 volts for charger to come on so get your volt meter and take voltage readings from each battery see where your at......if you have enough voltage try your charger on another cart see if it works if so we know its in the cart not the charger...........................................

Re: Charger Problem?
Well I feel like a real dumb a$$. The cart has 6 batteries and I do not know the total normal voltage. You guys will probably know but now I'm guessing 36 volts. While I was checking the voltage I thought, maybe I should check the water level n the batteries. They were dry! Now my situation is different. What do you guys recommend at this point. By the way the highest volt reading I got was 12. Some of the batteries read 0. Will they regenerate now that they have some water or will I have to manually charge with a single battery charger? Any help will be appreciated.
On a side note, I am planning to sell the cart when I get it going. We just don't use it enough to justify keeping. Based on the serial number in my first post, what would this buggy be worth? It has a top, windshield, side curtains and chrome hubcaps. Let me know your thoughts when you have time. srb1194 |

Re: Charger Problem?
We still don't know what voltage the cart is. How many water holes are there in a single battery?
In my experience the batteries will not come back to life. New batteries average $100 each plus installation, cables, and hold downs if needed. The cart is worth a few hundred dollars as it sits in my area.... |
