Default 48 volt battery

When checking my 8 volt batteries with a multi-meter what should it read for a good battery? When I check all 6, one at a time I get a reading of around 8.75. Is that good? I read in one article that they sould read over 9.

You are either checking while charging or right after charging to get those readings? I wait at least one hour after charging for batterys to level off before testing, and same with hydrometer tests.

I have found that an hour after the charge the SG and voltage levels are still quite elevated. Batteries easily read over 100% charge voltage-wise. My battery distributor suggests a 12 hour wait for the batteries to settle down to what they are gonna truly retain of the charge... hope this helps.
