HP rating of stock elec Motor

Title kinda says it all ... My son is a Master electrician that suddenly took interest in my cart. He is going to rewire the whole thing and asked about the stock Motor HP. He is thinking around 2 hp and stated that it is a standard electric motor that he thinks he can swap out. But doesnt want to go too big!!

I know he already said I have to put more battery banks in but he is way smarter than I am!!

Depends on the cart, and NO you can put in a standard electric motor. It's a series wound motor. Some are SEPEX

Some are 2, some 3.1 just depends on the motor. It should say on the tag.

yah the tag is missing on my mine, but he saysmy 85 is running a series wound and that is all I actually understood. then he started talking about gears, and I was really lost at that point.
