Tom, Replaced with the same batteries... Charger was shutting off with old batteries?

i unnderstand what your saying what i don,t understand is you said it has an OBC they don,t have OBC,s on 36 volt carts so if you do have one than it has to be a 48 volt cart......what does your charger plug look like ? is it round with 3 holes or a crows foot type?.......................

round 3 hole? I assumed that the batteries were correct as thats what it same with?

no you have a 48 volt cart that someone put 6 volt batts in so i,ll bet if you take them out get 8 volt batts and you,ll be as good as new.......why the charger worked i can,t answer that but i,m certain thats your problem..........................

your welcome, thats what we come here for, its a funny thing i was at camp this weekend and theres a fellow up there who sells and works on carts so i was talking to him about a elec.c.c. i was interested in and he said it has new 6 volt batts in it i just installed them, it was a 48 volt cart so i pointed that out to him and he said the same thing i just put in what i took out............. now this fellow should have known better but even still he made the mistake, it happens so much............................
