OBC-How Does It Go Bad?
With all the talk here of so many bad OBC's, what can be done to preserve them? I mean-what makes them fail? Cold, heat age, fatigue, abuse, etc? Just wondering as I think I may have the problem in a 2000 Carryall. TIA!

Re: OBC-How Does It Go Bad?
95-early 2000 years are the old 1st & 2nd generation computers. They are the equivalent of running windows95 They are just about guaranteed to go bad by now. Charging problems? Replace it with a newer model unit

Re: OBC-How Does It Go Bad?
doc, i don,t think you can disable it i know on 95,s and 96 non reagan you could bypass it but than the charger wouldn,t shut off..............but after that the bypass wouldn,t work.............if the cart is running but not charging you can bypass the low voltage sensor in the charger to get it to charge in most cases but other than that if cart won,t run i don,t think you can get around the OBC..................................

Re: OBC-How Does It Go Bad?
If we are talking about eliminating the obc and the obc dependent charger then it is very possible.
Basically you wire it up like a 90-94 Controller CC and replace the charger with a stand alone unit. |
