G2 Steering Column length
Can I shorten this column without getting into a mess? How is the column held into the steering gearbox? It looks like something best left alone..
Thank you, Trent |

Re: G2 Steering Column length
The easiest way is to shorten the shaft by cutting it in half, and having it welded and sleeved by a good welder or welding-shop.Another option is to have it machined with a "D"(flat-spot) on each half, then get a weld-on "Double-D" adapter. They use these on custom cars, trucks, and race-cars.It needs to be done properly to keep it straight and strong.Hope this helps.

Re: G2 Steering Column length
The column is pressed into the steering box if I remember right. If you shorten it , do it on the steering wheel end. It comes apart easy. I would get a pipe or tube that fits snug on the shaft to sleeve it with and cut it somewhere around the middle .
