I'm having about the same problem with the cart I just bought, I had it checked out and two of the solinoids are bad, I just got thru pulling the motor and 3 of the 4 brushes are stuck. I'll be pulling the brushes later this week and and probably putting in new brushes and have the commutator turned if needed.

Hey
U know you can get a fresh motor from PQ for $250 Don't spend $600 on any motor unless you are going for Extream Torque or Speed. |

Finally got the motor back from the machine shop, commutator refinished, new bushes installed and two solinoids, got it on the course for 18 holes and it ran great infact I think it started running better the more I drove it. Nothing fast for a 81 cart but with a stock motor 2 hp motor fast enough, at least for now. :-)
