Default 2 guage or 4 guage

2 guage or 4 guage, im upgrading my wires to atleast 4 guage, but wanted to know if it would make a difference in performance if I upgraded to 2 guage. I have a 1988 ezgo with a lift and a back seat. thanks

4g is sufficient for 400a controllers and stock motors. 2g would be wasted copper.

does it matter if it is welding cable? i have some #4 wire but its not welding cable. it actually sat 4 awg type mtw on it. thanks

Don't know on my end. It's always easier for us to purchase pre made. I'm sure someone will be along to help shortly to help...

well i went to the store and compared my #4 cable to the #4 welding cable there are alot more strands in the welding cable. if i try my cable will it do any harm to anything? thanks.

From what I have read on here, the welding cable is just alot easier to work with and route to where you need it to go....
