Re: 1992 EZGO Marathon Electric Cart
Something ain't right here. 44.9v is too high for a 36v pack at rest.

Re: 1992 EZGO Marathon Electric Cart
That reading is off the charger after a full charge. Didn't have my multimeter handy last night.

Re: 1992 EZGO Marathon Electric Cart
You're probably just reading the surface charge. Let the pack settle for a few hours then take another reading. My guess is they'll be ~38-39v.
The pot is easy to check. Just check the resistance on the black and white wires from the pot going to the controller. |

Re: 1992 EZGO Marathon Electric Cart
Good advise here by PG. Before you start trying to make the fine adjustment to tune the POT make sure it isn't defective. Pull the two wires off the the top of the controller coming from the POT. (They should be the spade connectors to post's 2 & 3) You should see no movement on the OHM meter when depressing the accelerator pedal till the hill brake is released. Then a nice steady rise from 0 to 5K as pedal reaches near full travel. If your POT is bad you can replace the rotary switch inside the POT box for like $10.

Re: 1992 EZGO Marathon Electric Cart
The POT seems to be okay and moves from 0-5K as the pedal is depressed. Under load it still cuts out though at full throttle. I have already ordered a new POT box so I will replace anyway.
Could the diode on the solenoid be a contributor to this issue? Mine is missing and I ordered that as well. Does the diode go across the Big posts or the Small posts? |

Voltage is reading 39V on the pack.
