Default Charging cart while idol?

Hello Again-
It was mentioned that I should put my cart in "tow" mode if it will be sitting idol for two weeks or more. Question- I assume that is without being plugged into charger?

Also, it will be for our property so a good number of times it will only be sitting idol 5-6 days, like a Sun- Thursday. Question- do I leave it hooked upo to the charger while I am away for that week?

Thanks
Z

If you leave it idle in tow mode, it will be as if the batteries were sitting not connected to anything for that period of time. Switching to tow mode I believe cuts the electrical connection between the controller and the battery pack.

Hopefully some of the other guys will chime in about if you should keep it sitting idle with or without the charger.

Personally I would never leave a charger plugged into my golf car but I live in Florida and lightning storms here are a daily occurance at certain time of the year. Yes, I would definately switch to tow mode before leaving it for a week, but I would not leave the charger plugged into it.

When the charger shuts off after fully charging it is effectively disconnected from the cart circuit until someone resets the charger. Isn't that right?
I leave the charger plugged in until I happen to notice that it is still plugged in days later. IMO it doesn't hurt to leave it plugged in for a few days, however; if somehow the charger doesn't shut off automatically...

Recharge it before you leave it .... The cart can stand for a week ~ no problem
