marathon accessory battery location
has anyone ever put one on a marathon? there's nowhere in my underseat area to mount one, and i want to get a 12v secondary deep cycle for all the gadgets for the cart to not draw uneven power from the cart pack.

Re: marathon accessory battery location
I did; but only because the previous owner had 3 12v deep cycle marines batts under there. I have already started a new battery box compartment in the bag area to house it when i switch back to 6v's.

Re: marathon accessory battery location
Runs great; however i have been told they will only last a fraction (25-30%) as long as 6v packs. so with 3 12v's they need to be replaced every 2-3 years at best.

Re: marathon accessory battery location
I have an AGM motorcycle battery that I put on top of the back fender underneath the seat. I cut a piece of aluminum bracket and strapped it in with a large zip tie. It sits at an angle, but doesn't matter with a gel battery. I then put a battery tender/charger on top of it which keeps things charged up pretty well. There is room for another of the same battery on the other side also. The other way to go is to get a battery box from WM/auto store and put in your marine battery there in the bag well.

Re: marathon accessory battery location
The radio will be a huge draw; especially if you start adding an amp and a couple good speakers. best to look real close at the specifications of any radios you may be installing and then make your battery choice from that. it would suck to go through installing a new acc battery just to found out its undersized. just remember that just because its 12v doesn't mean it has the amps your looking for.

Re: marathon accessory battery location
I have used mine to power 2 LED fog lights and some LED white/amber flashers that I installed on the roof of my cart and ride around all weekend in our campground with no problems. the trickle charger is more than enough for my needs.
